Supported Independent Living is part of the NDIS, where the NDIS pays for all the support you need to live independently.
In essence, it covers the cost of having a carer on site, in your home to help you with things like making meals, personal care, medical assistance and a range of other important needs.
Now it doesn’t cover the cost of your rent, or your electricity bills for example, but you can get help with that from other funding.
We like to think of it as the basics that you need for every-day life, and a range of other elements that help you learn, grow and build new skills, leading to even greater independence.
Now with everything that’s covered there, you can imagine you’re going to have a pretty close relationship with the person who’s supporting you, and that’s where we come into our own.
We take extra special care to get to know you properly, and then match you with a team of people we just know you’re going to get along with.
While this seems like common sense to us, you’d be surprised how uncommon it really is. Or, maybe you wouldn’t…
Our registered nurses are accredited to provide the following high intensity support services:
If you’re under 65, live in Australia and have a permanent disability you’re probably going to be eligible. If you’re not sure, contact us here, and we’ll help you figure it out.
No, you don’t, but if you’re eligible for Support Independent Living, then you’ll probably receive funding for a Support Coordinator too – and we’d highly recommend using their services. A good Support Coordinator will help you navigate all of this, and find the right NDIS provider for your specific needs.
